Flagship Loudspeaker
Olympus Kubus
The D’Von Audio Olympus Kubus is the flagship of the Olympus series, combining a three way, bass reflex architecture with substantial HDF construction, individually chambered drivers and a purpose engineered support structure. Its design brings together acoustic organisation, cabinet rigidity and distinctive materials in a loudspeaker conceived around controlled, full range musical reproduction.
The driver configuration comprises four main drive units with white ceramic cones, arranged as an upper pair dedicated to midrange reproduction and a lower pair responsible for low frequency output. Centrally positioned between them is a horn mounted ceramic tweeter, providing the high frequency element of the system. This arrangement establishes a defined acoustic layout.
Each driver occupies its own dedicated chamber, isolating the individual drive units within the enclosure and helping to reduce unwanted interaction from rear generated acoustic energy. This compartmentalised construction is complemented by extensive internal bracing, providing additional structural support and helping to control cabinet panel vibration. The enclosure itself is constructed from triple ply HDF, with a finished cabinet weight of approximately 50kg. The emphasis is on creating a rigid, well supported structure for the driver system while limiting unwanted contributions from the cabinet.
Low frequency loading is provided by a bass reflex arrangement incorporating two rear firing mounted aluminium ports tuned to 33Hz. These ports operate in conjunction with the low frequency drivers and enclosure volume to support bass extension below the drivers unassisted operating range. In-room testing has demonstrated audible low frequency extension down to approximately 25Hz (room size 3.9m x 6.5m). This figure describes the reported in-room result rather than establishing an anechoic frequency response limit.

The Kubus stands on a dedicated support engineered to complement the mass and construction of the loudspeaker. Built from multiple layers of HDF, the stand is fully bonded and reinforced with metal rods that bind the structure together. This construction increases rigidity and structural strength while helping to minimise unwanted resonance within the stand itself. Weighing approximately 50kg, the stand is a substantial engineered component rather than a conventional lightweight support.
The exterior finish completes the design. The stand is finished in a carbon fibre weave and complemented by a high gloss mirror finish, creating a striking contrast between the technical character of the materials and the precision of the final presentation. Together the approximately 50kg enclosure and 50kg stand give each complete Olympus Kubus assembly a total weight of approximately 100kg.
The Olympus Kubus represents the culmination of D’Von Audio’s approach to loudspeaker design, bringing together meticulous engineering, substantial construction and distinctive aesthetics. Every element has been considered as part of a complete design, resulting in a flagship loudspeaker with a commanding physical presence and a clear sense of purpose. A statement of design and engineering within the Olympus series, the Kubus reflects our commitment to creating loudspeakers where craftsmanship and musical reproduction take centre stage.
